The Denon AVR-S960H is a 7.2-channel 8K AV receiver designed to deliver immersive home theatre performance, advanced video connectivity and versatile wireless music streaming. With seven discrete power amplifiers, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, HDMI 2.1 connectivity and HEOS Built-in, it provides a comprehensive foundation for modern home entertainment systems.
The AVR-S960H delivers 90 watts per channel at 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz with 0.08% THD when two channels are driven. It supports speakers with impedance from 4 to 16 ohms and features seven discrete power amplifiers. Two subwoofer outputs allow flexible 7.2-channel system configurations and dual-subwoofer placement.
For immersive home cinema, the AVR-S960H supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio provide support for high-quality lossless surround sound formats, while the receiver’s 7.1-channel processing architecture supports a wide range of surround configurations.
Audyssey MultEQ XT room calibration helps measure the acoustic characteristics of the listening environment and optimize the connected speakers accordingly. This makes system setup easier while helping achieve a more balanced presentation within the listening room.
The receiver features six HDMI inputs and two HDMI outputs, with support for 8K/60Hz and select 4K/120Hz pass-through. It also supports 8K upscaling, eARC and modern HDR formats including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, HLG and Dynamic HDR.
Gaming connectivity includes Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Quick Frame Transport (QFT) and select 4K/120Hz support. These features make the AVR-S960H suitable for modern gaming consoles and compatible high-refresh-rate displays.
HEOS Built-in provides network music streaming and multi-room audio functionality. Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi provide additional wireless playback options, while compatible streaming services can be accessed through the integrated HEOS platform.
The AVR-S960H also supports high-resolution music playback and includes a dedicated phono input for connecting a compatible turntable.
