The BenQ TK705STi is a premium 4K UHD short-throw smart home entertainment projector designed for living rooms, compact apartments, gaming spaces and multi-purpose entertainment areas. Combining 3000 ANSI lumens of brightness, true 4K UHD resolution, BenQ HDR-PRO and CinematicColor technologies, built-in Google TV and ultra-low-latency gaming performance, it delivers a large-screen entertainment experience without requiring a long projection distance.
The projector uses DLP technology to produce a 3840 × 2160 4K UHD image with approximately 8.3 million pixels. Its 4LED illumination system delivers 3000 ANSI lumens together with a specified 600,000:1 FOFO contrast ratio, helping provide clear and dynamic images for movies, sports, streaming and gaming.
BenQ CinematicColor technology provides 98% coverage of the Rec.709 colour gamut for natural and consistent colour reproduction. HDR-PRO processing further enhances compatible HDR content through advanced tone mapping and contrast optimisation, helping retain detail across both bright highlights and darker scenes.
The major installation advantage of the TK705STi is its 0.8 short-throw ratio. BenQ states that the projector can produce an approximately 100-inch image from only 1.8 metres away, making it particularly suitable for smaller living rooms where a conventional long-throw projector may be difficult to install.
BenQ’s Smart Image Adaptation system simplifies everyday setup. Auto Focus, Auto 2D Keystone, Auto Screen Fit, Auto Obstacle Avoidance, Digital Shift and automatic picture optimisation allow the projector to rapidly align and optimise the image after it has been repositioned. Automatic keystone adjustment supports up to ±30 degrees vertically and ±20 degrees horizontally.
Auto Cinema Mode adapts image characteristics according to the viewing environment, helping optimise brightness, tone and colour when room conditions change. This makes the projector particularly practical for living-room installations that are used during both daytime and evening viewing.
Built-in Google TV provides direct access to compatible streaming applications, including officially supported Netflix. Google Cast and compatible iOS mirroring are supported, while Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 provide modern wireless connectivity for streaming and external audio devices.
The TK705STi is also engineered for large-screen gaming. Dual HDMI 2.1 inputs support Auto Low Latency Mode, while BenQ specifies an input lag of just 5ms at 4K/60Hz. Dedicated HDR-FPS and HDR-RPG picture modes optimise visibility, contrast and detail for different gaming genres.
The integrated audio system consists of two 8W chamber speakers, providing 16W of total built-in audio output. HDMI eARC supports up to 7.1-channel audio return when the projector is connected to compatible soundbars, AV receivers or home theatre systems.
Its long-life 4LED illumination system is rated for approximately 20,000 hours in Normal Mode and up to 30,000 hours in Eco Mode, eliminating the routine lamp replacement associated with conventional lamp-based projectors.
