Denon AVR-X1700H 7.2-Channel 8K AV Receiver
The Denon AVR-X1700H is a 7.2-channel AV receiver designed to provide immersive home theatre, high-resolution music playback and advanced 8K video connectivity. With seven discrete power amplifiers, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support, HDMI 2.1 connectivity and HEOS Built-in, it provides a versatile foundation for modern home cinema and entertainment systems.
The AVR-X1700H delivers 80 watts per channel at 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20kHz with 0.08% THD when two channels are driven. It supports speakers rated from 4 to 16 ohms and provides seven discrete amplifier channels. Two independent subwoofer outputs allow flexible dual-subwoofer configurations.
For immersive cinema sound, the receiver supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, DTS Virtual:X, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Dolby Atmos Height Virtualization is also supported, providing an alternative immersive audio experience without requiring dedicated overhead speakers.
Audyssey MultEQ XT room correction analyzes the connected speakers and listening environment to optimize system performance. Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume further provide listening-level and volume-management options for compatible setups.
The HDMI section includes six HDMI inputs, with three supporting 8K video. The AVR-X1700H supports 8K/60Hz and select 4K/120Hz pass-through, together with VRR, ALLM and other advanced gaming features. HDR compatibility includes Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG, making the receiver suitable for modern 4K and 8K displays.
HEOS Built-in provides access to network music streaming and multi-room audio. Apple AirPlay 2, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi offer additional wireless playback options, while Ethernet provides a wired network connection. The receiver supports high-resolution FLAC, ALAC and WAV playback up to 24-bit/192kHz and DSD audio up to 5.6MHz.
The AVR-X1700H is also Roon Tested and supports popular network streaming services through its integrated HEOS platform. Its combination of immersive surround processing, 8K HDMI connectivity, high-resolution audio and multi-room streaming makes it suitable for both home theatre and dedicated music applications.
