Denon PMA-600NE Integrated Stereo Amplifier – 70W/Ch at 4Ω with Bluetooth, 192kHz/24-bit DAC & MM Phono

The Denon PMA-600NE is a 2-channel integrated stereo amplifier designed for high-quality Hi-Fi music systems, combining Denon’s discrete analog amplification with Bluetooth streaming, high-resolution digital inputs and a dedicated Moving Magnet phono stage. Its versatile connectivity makes it suitable for systems built around turntables, CD players, televisions, digital transports, streaming devices and conventional analog sources.

The power amplifier section uses Denon’s Advanced HC-TR Single Push-Pull circuit with discrete power-amplifier construction and a high-current dynamic power supply. The PMA-600NE delivers 45W + 45W into 8-ohm loudspeakers from 20Hz to 20kHz at 0.07% THD and 70W + 70W into 4 ohms at 1kHz with 0.7% THD. Its overall frequency response extends from 5Hz to 100kHz.

For digital playback, the amplifier incorporates a PCM5141 digital-to-analog converter. Two optical digital inputs and one coaxial digital input accept 2-channel Linear PCM signals up to 192kHz/24-bit, allowing compatible televisions, media players, CD transports and other digital sources to be connected directly to the amplifier.

Bluetooth connectivity provides convenient wireless playback from compatible smartphones, tablets and computers. The Bluetooth section uses Bluetooth 5.1 and supports SBC and AAC codecs. When digital functionality is not required, Analog Mode can be used to disable digital circuitry and Bluetooth operation, helping reduce potential interference during dedicated analog listening.

Vinyl playback is supported through the integrated Moving Magnet phono equalizer. The MM input is specified at 2.5mV / 47k ohms and provides an RIAA response of 20Hz–20kHz within ±0.5dB. The PMA-600NE does not include Moving Coil phono support, so MC cartridges require a suitable external phono preamplifier or step-up device.

Source Direct allows the Bass, Treble and Balance circuitry to be bypassed when a more direct signal path is preferred. For systems requiring tonal adjustment, Bass and Treble controls provide ±8dB adjustment at 100Hz and 10kHz respectively.

A dedicated subwoofer pre-out makes it possible to integrate a powered subwoofer for extended low-frequency performance. The amplifier also includes a headphone output, recording connections, a metal front panel and a supplied remote control.
