The M&K Sound IW950 is a premium architectural in-wall loudspeaker incorporating proprietary M&K Sound drive units and technologies derived from the classic 950 Series. Designed for high-performance home theatre and music systems, the IW950 delivers detailed, dynamic and accurate sound while maintaining a discreet, flush-mounted appearance.
The IW950 features two 5.25-inch polypropylene bass/midrange drivers that provide controlled and articulate low-frequency and midrange reproduction. The dual-driver configuration helps deliver a powerful and balanced presentation while maintaining the compact dimensions required for architectural installation.
High-frequency reproduction is handled by a 1-inch soft fabric dome tweeter. M&K Sound’s custom-designed tweeter technology is engineered for accurate and extended high-frequency reproduction, providing a smooth transition between the tweeter and bass/midrange drivers.
The IW950 delivers a frequency response of 80 Hz–20 kHz ±3 dB and has a sensitivity of 90 dB at 2.83 V/1 m. Its 4-ohm impedance and recommended amplifier power range of 25–400 watts make it suitable for integration with powerful AV receivers, power amplifiers and dedicated home theatre electronics.
The speaker incorporates a sealed backbox enclosure, which provides a controlled acoustic environment and reduces the influence of the wall cavity on the speaker’s performance. This allows more predictable results across different installation environments.
The IW950 uses a rigid steel front baffle designed to provide a stable mounting platform and minimise unwanted vibration and resonance. The hardened steel construction is particularly well suited to demanding custom installation applications.
Its frameless architectural design allows the speaker to blend discreetly into the wall. The low-profile metal grille can be painted to match the surrounding surface, making the IW950 suitable for luxury residential interiors where both acoustic performance and visual integration are important.
The IW950 can be used for a variety of home theatre applications, including left, centre and right channels, surround channels and immersive audio installations. M&K Sound states that its architectural in-wall range can be used for current immersive formats including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Auro.
Installation is simplified through the integrated mounting system, which uses self-locking clamps and front-accessible mounting screws. Push terminals and pre-fitted installation hardware further support a clean and efficient custom installation.
