LiYA S12 12″ Active Subwoofer – 500W RMS Class D Amplifier with Dual 12″ Driver Architecture

The LiYA S12 is a flagship powered subwoofer designed for high-performance home theatre and Hi-Fi systems that require substantial low-frequency output. Its dual-driver architecture combines a 12-inch front-firing active woofer with a matching 12-inch down-firing passive radiator.

The main 12-inch treated paper-cone woofer is driven by an integrated high-efficiency Class D amplifier rated at 500 watts RMS with up to 1000 watts peak output. This provides substantial dynamic headroom for demanding movie soundtracks, music and low-frequency effects.

A 12-inch down-firing passive radiator works alongside the powered front driver to reinforce deep bass without using a conventional bass-reflex port. The passive-radiator architecture helps increase low-frequency output while reducing the airflow noise that can occur with traditional ported designs.

LiYA’s current dedicated S12 technical specification sheet lists a frequency response of 22Hz to 250Hz and a maximum acoustic output of 101dB SPL. The live LiYA product webpage currently lists 30Hz to 250Hz, so the 22Hz specification should be treated as the current technical-sheet figure.

Connectivity includes a dedicated LFE input for AV receivers and processors together with left and right line-level inputs for stereo systems. A line-level high-pass output provides additional system-integration flexibility.

Continuous phase adjustment from 0 to 180 degrees helps align the subwoofer acoustically with the main loudspeakers and listening position for smoother bass integration.

The cabinet measures approximately 370 × 410 × 410mm and weighs 16.1kg. Its combination of a large active driver, passive radiator and 500W RMS amplification makes the S12 particularly suitable for dedicated cinemas, larger media rooms and high-performance stereo installations.
