The BenQ GP520 is a premium 4K smart home entertainment projector designed for living rooms, family entertainment, streaming, sports and large-screen gaming. Combining native 4K UHD resolution, 2600 ANSI lumens of brightness, BenQ CinematicColor technology, HDR-PRO processing and built-in Google TV, the GP520 provides an integrated big-screen entertainment solution for modern homes.

The DLP projection system delivers a native resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Its 4LED light source produces 2600 ANSI lumens of brightness and is paired with a specified 200,000:1 FOFO contrast ratio using light-source dimming. The projector covers 98% of the Rec.709 colour gamut and 81% of DCI-P3, providing broad colour reproduction for movies, streaming content, sports and games.

BenQ HDR-PRO technology enhances 4K HDR reproduction through advanced tone mapping designed to preserve detail across bright highlights and dark areas. The GP520 supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG formats, while BenQ CinematicColor technology is used to maintain accurate colour reproduction across compatible content.

The GP520 also features Auto Cinema Mode with Intelligent Ambient Adaptation. Integrated sensors assess environmental conditions and automatically optimise picture characteristics. Wall Color Correction can compensate for projection onto selected coloured walls, while Distance-Based Adjustment helps optimise picture quality according to the projector’s placement and screen distance.

Built-in Google TV provides direct access to compatible streaming applications, including officially certified Netflix. Google Cast and compatible iOS mirroring provide additional wireless playback options, while Wi-Fi 6 connectivity and Bluetooth 5.2 enable high-speed wireless networking and connection to compatible audio devices.

Installation is simplified by Auto Focus, automatic 3D keystone adjustment, automatic rotation correction, Screen Fit, Obstacle Avoidance, Image Reposition and Digital Zoom. The GP520 uses a fixed optical lens with a 1.2 throw ratio; it does not incorporate optical vertical or horizontal lens shift.

For gaming, both HDMI inputs support HDMI 2.1, HDCP 2.3, 4K at 60Hz and Auto Low Latency Mode. BenQ specifies an input lag of approximately 17.9ms at both 1080p/60Hz and 4K/60Hz. MEMC motion processing is also provided to improve motion smoothness for sports and video content.

The integrated CinematicSound system incorporates two 12W speakers for a total rated speaker output of 24W. HDMI eARC supports external audio integration and Dolby Atmos transmission to compatible audio equipment, while Bluetooth can be used with compatible wireless speakers and headphones.

The GP520 uses a long-life 4LED illumination system rated for approximately 20,000 hours in Normal Mode and up to 30,000 hours in Eco Mode. This eliminates the routine lamp replacement requirements associated with conventional lamp-based projectors.
