BenQ GV50 FHD Smart Portable Laser Projector – 500 ANSI Lumens with Google TV, Built-in Battery & 135° Projection

The BenQ GV50 is a premium Full HD smart portable laser projector designed for flexible entertainment in bedrooms, living spaces and portable viewing environments. Combining 500 ANSI-lumen laser projection, built-in Google TV, an integrated lithium-ion battery, an 18W 2.1-channel sound system and an exceptionally flexible rotating base, the GV50 provides an all-in-one large-screen entertainment solution.

The projector uses DLP display technology with a native Full HD resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels and a 16:9 native aspect ratio. Its laser light source produces 500 ANSI lumens of brightness with a specified 100,000:1 FOFO contrast ratio and 92% coverage of the Rec.709 colour space. HDR10 and HLG compatibility further expands its ability to reproduce compatible high-dynamic-range entertainment content.

BenQ rates the laser light source for up to 20,000 hours in Normal Mode and up to 30,000 hours in Eco Mode. This long-life solid-state illumination system reduces the maintenance associated with conventional replaceable projector lamps.

Built-in Google TV provides direct access to compatible entertainment and streaming applications, including officially certified Netflix access. Google Cast and compatible iOS screen mirroring allow supported smartphones, tablets and computers to share content wirelessly. Dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 further expand wireless connectivity.

A major feature of the GV50 is its integrated battery, allowing the projector to be used without remaining permanently connected to AC power. The lithium-ion battery makes the GV50 particularly useful for flexible room-to-room entertainment and portable viewing. USB-C Power Delivery input also allows connection to compatible external USB-C power sources and power banks.

The integrated rotating base provides extensive positioning flexibility. The projector can rotate vertically through approximately 135 degrees and horizontally through 360 degrees, making it especially suitable for bedside ceiling projection. This allows users to project onto conventional walls, angled surfaces or the ceiling without requiring a complex mounting system.

Automatic setup technology includes Auto Focus, Auto 2D Keystone Correction, automatic image rotation, obstacle avoidance, screen fit and digital zoom. These features help the GV50 automatically optimise the image when it is moved between different projection positions.

Audio is handled by an integrated 18W 2.1-channel speaker system consisting of two 4W speakers and a dedicated 10W chamber woofer. The separate woofer provides additional low-frequency output for movies, shows and music without requiring an external audio system for everyday viewing.

The GV50 supports screen sizes from approximately 30 inches up to 120 inches depending on projection distance and installation conditions. Connectivity includes HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.3, USB Type-A, multifunction USB Type-C with DisplayPort and Power Delivery functionality, and a 3.5mm analog audio output.
