Is a soundbar better than a home theatre system?
A soundbar is simpler and tidier, and a good one transforms television sound. A separate 5.1 system still gives wider, more convincing surround and deeper bass, so choose the soundbar for convenience and the system for performance.
Do Dolby Atmos soundbars actually sound three-dimensional?
Models with up-firing drivers bounce sound off the ceiling and create a real sense of height in rooms with a flat, hard ceiling. In rooms with high or sloped ceilings the effect is much weaker.
Can I add a subwoofer later?
Many soundbars pair with a matching wireless subwoofer and rear speakers from the same brand. Check before buying, since the matching parts are model-specific.
